About the K12T

MoEP has established the K12 Student Space Initiative Team (K12T) to educate middle and high school students about space and Mars exploration, raise awareness of space technology, and train future space scientists and engineers.

K12T offers a 38-week educational curriculum that includes hands-on workshops and distance learning opportunities.

K12T's Mission

  • To present space and Mars exploration to middle and high school students in an engaging and informative way,
  • To prepare the next generation of space scientists and engineers from today on,
  • To raise awareness of space technology and exploration among students,
  • To conduct research on K12-level space exploration and technological developments,
  • To prepare space and Mars education curricula,
  • To develop experiment kits.

K12T's Research Areas

  • Coordination of school space studies and cooperation in different countries and cities,
  • Educational materials,
  • VR/AR educational materials,
  • Robotics and coding studies,
  • Monitoring of space agencies' activities for children and various competitions,
  • Spacecraft modeling,
  • Miniature Mars base modeling.

Importance of K12T

K12T offers a unique opportunity for middle and high school students interested in space science and technology. The team provides learning opportunities within a curriculum framework and the opportunity to conduct their own research projects.

K12T also helps students connect with a global student community and develop the skills to contribute to future space exploration.
