Who We Are?

Mars on Earth Project (MoEP) is a non-profit community that operates entirely on a volunteer basis. We are not affiliated with any official or private institution, association, NGO, or formation. We conduct our work independently.

Our project does not involve any paid work in any area. Our activities are based on the open-source philosophy and focused on knowledge sharing.

Our Volunteers

Our team consists of scientists, engineers, lecturers, teachers/trainers, TUBITAK researchers, radio amateurs, and people from different professions. Our volunteers come from Türkiye and different countries of the world.

Our founders, Ruha USLU (TA2IRU) and Barış DİNÇ (TA7W), are also members of the Turkish Amateur Satellite Technologies Organization (AMSAT-TR).

Our Mission

Mars on Earth Project (MoEP) is the first Mars research project based in Turkey aimed at amateur scientists and students interested in space research and technologies. Our aim is to:

• Raise awareness about space and manned/unmanned Mars missions,
• Create a foundation for future Mars missions.

Our Working Principle

We aim to take theoretical knowledge one step further by combining it with possibilities, capabilities, and technical information, and to enable participants to be involved in this work. We also aim to facilitate access to information by providing Turkish resources.

Mars Studies in Türkiye

Within the scope of our completely open-source and comprehensive project, we plan to carry out the following activities in a pilot region:

• Analog astronaut and analog research station communication and IoT systems,

• Space weather observation studies,
• Moon and planetary research,
• Space law studies.

Student Activities

We encourage teachers and students to participate in the project. Preparations for our comprehensive studies are ongoing. Our goals and introductions will be shared on our website in time.
