The 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day

Info: The 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, gifted to all children of the world by Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, is celebrated with the same enthusiasm every year.

Ceremonies and children’s festivals are held all over Turkey on the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which is held every year on April 23. Children take part in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and symbolically rule the country one day.

Since ATATÜRK dedicated the Republic of Turkey to children, Turkish schoolchildren sit in the Parliament that day and symbolically rule the country. They then elect a president to address the country on national television. Children’s festivals are held throughout the country.
