100 Turkish Radio Amateurs on the QO-100 Satellite

On December 22, 2021, approximately 100 Turkish radio amateurs met in “Amateur Talks” ZOOM conference channel and the meeting was fed to the  QO-100 satellite, which is 36.000 km away from the earth. This activity took it’s place among the firsts of Turkish Radio Amateur history.

Since 2.4GHz amateur radio usage is not permitted in Turkey, uplinks were made through Mars on Earth Project (MoEP) ground stations located in Finland and Germany.

We have experienced many good memories within the program. While the event was being broadcasted via the satellite, many foreign radio amateurs became the first foreign attendees of the program called “Amatorce Sohbetler” (Amateur Talks).

During the activity, in which the messages and images of the participants were also transmitted via the satellite, was only a few samples and demonstration of what we can do when the 2.4GHz band is allowed in Turkey.

You can access to the recordings and content of the activity using the following YouTube link.
